The date was March 13, 2020. Yes, Friday the 13th. Despite the obvious omen, few would have predicted that nearly half of the firm’s team members would spend their last day together — for more than a month — on a construction site. But by Monday the 16th, the coronavirus pandemic was upon us and sheltering in place was the new norm.
TEAM BUILDING FOR COMMUNITY GOOD.
For the second year in a row, Finch, Thornton & Baird, LLP collaborated with the Habitat for Humanity San Diego Chapter for a healthy dose of team building and doing good for the community. Unlike last year, cold and rainy weather challenged our work crews from the moment we stepped onto the Logan Heights job site. But never did it dampen our spirits or let’s-get-to-work attitude to finish our assigned tasks. From framing, siding, and trim work to site clean-up, attorneys and staff rose to the occasion. Teamwork, hard work, and laughter typified the day.
TEAM WORK ON THE JOB SITE AND AT THE OFFICE.
Prominent among the firm’s Core Values is One Team. Trust within and loyal to the firm. Inspire lawyers and staff to excel. Not afraid to get our hands dirty. These are the ideas that move us.
While it was truly gratifying for many team members to volunteer their time to Habitat for Humanity, that opportunity was only made possible by the generous support of fellow team members back in the office. (After all, the needs of our clients come first.) The selfless willingness of the other half of our attorney and staff team was essential. Thanks to you, too, for making this day possible for the rest of us. We know the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction was felt by all.
