Firm Recovers Subcontractor’s Retention In Full

The firm was retained by an electrical subcontractor who had not timely received payment in full for subcontract retention owed on a public work of improvement in Orange County. The firm immediately served a stop payment notice to the public owner and served a public works payment bond claim to the general contractor’s surety. After engaging with the general contractor and surety, within five (5) business days of serving claims the firm’s client was paid in full for all retention without litigation.
