Nathan Nguyen supports the firm’s construction law and commercial litigation departments. He works with general contractors, specialty subcontractors, and property owners to resolve construction and business disputes. Drawing on a background in civil litigation, Nathan digs into factual development, legal analysis, and motion practice. His detail-oriented approach to discovery and liability analysis aligns with the firm’s aggressive representation style.

CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION AND REAL PROPERTY DISPUTES Defective work, contract defaults, and real property disputes can disrupt projects and drain resources. Nathan conducts the damage and liability analyses needed to position clients for favorable outcomes at mediation or trial. Whether he is enforcing a mechanic’s lien, representing an owner in a complex defect case, or providing day-to-day compliance advice, Nathan focuses on finding the most effective path to resolution.

BUSINESS LITIGATION AND COMPLIANCE Commercial disputes often require a nuanced understanding of both the law and the specific industry involved. Nathan’s business litigation experience covers everything from breach of contract claims to consumer law and warranty defense. He also handles regulatory and licensure disputes, producing the support needed to weaken opposing counsel’s claims and protect the firm’s clients’ business interests.

JUDICIAL INSIGHT AND APPELLATE LITIGATION Nathan brings a valuable behind-the-bench perspective to his practice, having completed judicial externships with both a U.S. Magistrate Judge and a U.S. District Judge. During his time in federal court, he participated in general business litigation, social security appeals, and consumer law decisions for the court. He also actively participated in Early Neutral Evaluation conferences. By observing these conferences and memorializing the proceedings for the court, Nathan learned to quickly differentiate between highly effective advocacy and poor representation. Combined with his experience handling multiple appeals, this background gives Nathan an understanding of how judges evaluate evidence and arguments.

A FOUNDATION IN ADVOCACY Nathan earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego. While there, he served as Lead Articles Editor of the San Diego Law Review and was peer-selected for publication for his Comment on securities law (Vol. 62-3). He also honed his litigation skills on the Moot Court Associate Board, earning Second Best Oralist at the Paul A. McLennon, Sr., Honors Moot Court Tournament, and received the highest grade in two upper-division writing courses, including AI & Innovation. Nathan graduated summa cum laude from UC San Diego (B.A., Psychology). Prior to his legal career, he gained valuable public sector experience serving on the staff of a U.S. Representative and working with a local nonprofit in education.
